West Islip High Musicians Slated To Perform In Prestigious Festivals
West Islip High School student musicians were selected to participate in prestigious music festivals in Suffolk County and New York State.

WEST ISLIP, NY —West Islip High School student musicians have been honored with participating in two prestigious music festivals in New York State.
Some West Islip high students were selected to participate in the 2024 New York State School Music Association All-State Festival, a prestigious festival that features the most outstanding musicians from the state of New York.
Those students include Sean Koerner, symphonic band; Robby Marrali, symphonic band alternate; Teagan McGuire, treble chorus; Gavin Pollock, symphony orchestra and mixed chorus; Dana Shi, string orchestra alternate; Cara Thaxter, mixed chorus alternate; and Ellianna Wolhar, mixed chorus.

Some of those students, along with others, were selected to participate in the 66 th annual New York State Council Administrators Music Education All-County Festival which includes the most accomplished musicians from Suffolk County, the district said. The concert will be held at Hauppauge High School on November 15.
Those students include Leah Gallagher, Sean Koerner and Gavin Pollock in the symphonic band; April Allegretto, Giordana LaFemina, Teagan McGuire and Ellianna Wolhar in mixed chorus; Cara Thaxter and Addison Wilson in treble choir; and Robby Marrali and Dana Shi in the orchestra.
