West Islip Police Blotter: Fleeing An Accident And Fake ID
People arrested in connection with fleeing the scene of an accident false impersonation.
WEST ISLIP, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the West Islip area from April 29 through May 5.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- April 30: Miriam Zuniga of Milligan Lane in West Islip was at the Department of Motor Vehicles at 1815 Jericho Turnpike when she intentionally filled out a drivers license application with a false name intending to obtain a second driver's license, police said. According to police, she was arrested and charged with providing a false instrument with intent to defraud.
- April 30: Christopher Miller of Oak Neck Road in West Islip was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe on Commack Road when he struck a police car that was active in an emergency call with its lights on and tried to flee the scene, police said. He was arrested and charged with first-degree leaving the scene of an accident and first-degree failure to show his driver's license, police said.
