Eight current seniors were among 13 named as AP Scholars with Honor, earned by those who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all of their AP exams and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of those exams, the release states.
These outstanding academic achievers all received award certificates from the College Board, a nonprofit organization that provides services that help students transition to college.
Its role includes administering the AP program, in which high school students are provided with AP course and exam experiences. Colleges recognize the achievement of AP students, who demonstrate through successful course completion that they are ready for the challenges of higher education.
“I am very proud of our students,” said Principal Dr. Anthony D. Bridgeman, in the release. “They are artistic, athletic, creative and academically strong, but most importantly, they are of good character. These students are involved in every aspect of the school community, including music, art, honor societies, athletics and community service activities. They exemplify what it means to educate the whole child.”
