Drama students at Beach Street Middle School in West Islip ushered in the holiday spirit with a performance of “Elf, Jr.,” based on the 2003 holiday comedy film, Nov. 19 and 20.

More than 50 drama club students participated in the production, directed by Justin DeMaio, according to a school news release. Maura Maynard was the costume director, and Tim Van Wyen was the set director.

“The students worked very hard since the beginning of September, and put their hearts and souls into making this production come to life,” said Principal Andrew O’Farrell. “It was so refreshing to see how much fun they had performing the play, which was enjoyed by everyone in the audience.”
