Suffolk Truck Strikes, Injuries Pedestrian — Then Drives Off: Cops

WEST ISLIP, NY — A driver who struck and injured a pedestrian, then fled the scene in West Islip, is currently sought after by Suffolk County Police.

On March 20 at about 7:20 a.m., the driver of a blue Dodge Ram pickup truck struck a 50-year-old woman on the corner of Ruth Street and Kane Street, police said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Investigators believe the vehicle may have passenger side rearview mirror damage and a New Jersey license plate.
