25th White Plains St. Patrick's Day Parade Set For Saturday

All past grand marshals will collectively serve as the "honorary grand marshal" in honor of the parade's 25-year history.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — The city of White Plains will hold its 25th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 9.

John Martin, the parade chairman, along with co-chairs Beth O’Keeffe Cleary, Declan Farrell and Brian Mahon, announced that all past grand marshals will collectively serve as the “honorary grand marshal” in honor of the parade’s 25-year history.

All past aides to the grand marshals are invited to march as well.

The parade will begin promptly at noon at the intersection of Mamaroneck and Livingston avenues and proceed up Mamaroneck Avenue to Main Street, ending in front of City Hall.

Organizers said the White Plains parade celebrates the contributions of the Irish people to humankind through their rich culture and music, their indomitable spirit and their legendary warmth and humor.

This year’s parade will feature 20 marching bands, more than 15 floats and numerous community groups and organizations.

The parade committee will hold an official “Flag Raising Ceremony” at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 at Renaissance Plaza Park, which is at the intersection of Main Street and Mamaroneck Avenue.
