
1.) White Plains Farmers Market is Open Today
The market will be open today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Court Street between Main Street and Martine Avenue. Participating vendors come to the market from local farms in upstate New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Vendors feature a wide assortment of fresh produce, plants, home baked goods, breads and prepared food.
2.) Voter Registration at Renaissance PlazaThe White Plains Democratic City Committee will be registering voters at Renaissance Plaza on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. throughout the summer and fall. If you plan to come to the Farmers' Market, they'll be just around the corner on the Plaza. If you're not registered, or if you've recently moved and need to re-register, stop by.
3.) Free Workshop: Commercial Insurance for Small Business
SCORE Westchester is hosting a workshop on preparing for business loans Wednesday. The workshop, which is being led by Filipe Silva of Webster Bank, will last from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., is being led by Jennifer McEwen-Glover of Peoples United Insurance Agency. The course will outline the key insurance coverage necessary for most small businesses including general liability, commercial property, workers compensation, and commercial auto. Claims examples will be outlined to explore how insurance coverage responds when you have a loss. 4.) Mid-Summer’s Eve – Gatsby Style: A Senior Social to Celebrate Groundbreaking Reads
The Greenburgh Library is hosting “Mid-Summer’s Eve – Gatsby Style: A Senior Social to Celebrate Groundbreaking Reads” tonight from 7 p.m to 8 p.m. The is free and will feature refreshments, music, and a fun great book exchange with raffles. Seniors are also encouraged to dress in roaring 20s-style attire. Call Kate at 721-8233 to register. The Greenburgh Public Library is located 300 Tarrytown Road in Elmsford.

5.) Today is National Heat Stroke Prevention Day
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Safe Kids Worldwide and various other safety advocates are joining together today on social media to raise awareness about the dangers to children in hot cars.
