White Plains Honors 116 Scholar Athletes

One hundred-sixteen  students from seven Fall Varsity Athletic Teams were named Scholar-Athletes by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.  

This status is awarded on the basis of a team average of 90 or better from a specified number of athletes.  At the Dec. 12 White Plains Board of Education Meeting, Athletic Director Chip Salvestrini introduced the coaches, who presented certificates and pins to all the students.

Students representing the Boys’ Cross Country Team, coached by Fred Singleton, are:  

Kyle Adams, Craig Arnold, Aneesh Bhattacharya, Nick Capicotto, Chris Cardon, Shamus Cardon, Teddy Chomiak, Nelson Corona, Max Crawley, Tyler Ford, William Garrison, Chandler Kilkelly, Constantin Meier, Michael Michell, Michael Monachelli, Peter Monachelli, Kevin Nicholson, Max Rogovin, Grant Rubin and Vivekanand Tatineni.

From Girls’ Cross Country, Carlos Agudelo, Coach, honorees were:  

Madeleine Beck, Kaitlin Cardon, Emma Chapnick, Nicolette DiMaggio, Cardon Furry, Liza Gellerman, Neassa Hunt, Megan McDonough, Rachel Okun, Nicole Santana, Jessica Sheridan, Alexandra Smith, Amanda Soyk, Rachel Soyk, Eleanor Trelstad, Elizabeth Trelstad, Ayan Waite and Lauren Woods.

The Field Hockey team is coached by Joan Behrends and students named were:  

Julia Bastone, Olivia Bellantoni, Courtney Burke, Michele Caceres, Brigida Capicotto, Francesca Critelli, Olivia Freeman, Alyssa Habermann, Jessica Hazel, Yaquelin Iglesias, Katherine Leone, Toni Moricone, Kelsey Pastore and Lauren Sharpe.      

Carlos Mejia coaches Girls’ Soccer and his team members honored were:  

Megan Cacaeras, Jasmine Campbell, Briana Chapman, Sarah Davis, Tori Hamilton, Bethany Herrmann, Michelle Krug, Shannon Lynch, Danielle Reggio, Lissette Rodriguez, Jordan Sobo, Robin Stieglitz, Holly Stumpf and Hannah Ward.

Girls’ Swimming and Diving, Patricia Gilmartin, Coach, had the following Scholar-Athletes:  

Meghan Barry, Mae Berglas, Nikki Brown, Franziska Burnett, Sara Caputi, Madison Dale-Miller, Isabelle Daly, Tanveen Dhallu, Kaitlin Doherty, Rachel Eddy, Jessica Falk, Theodora Fontas, Leslie Gallardo, Madelyn Gallardo, Amanda Garcia, Ceara Gilmartin-Donohue, Billie Li, Yan Lin, Sarah Lumelsky, Estelle MacDonald, Claire Nataro, Allison Schick, Jena Schoenherr, Abigail Strug, Leslie Tompkins, Karlem Vacacela, Arya Vasudevan and Maria Velazquez.

Brian Golden coaches Girls’ Tennis.  Team members honored were:

From Girls’ Volleyball, coached by Terrance Jackson, the following were named:  

Victoria Antico, Taylor Clay, Tayler Falvey, Melieluck Gulle, Avia Hawkins, Arielle Miller, Bridgette Sarco and Cheyenne Vlymen-Williams.
