“It is truly exciting to get both current and future environmental law practitioners together in one location,” said Amanda Sauer, the 2012 NELMCC student chair.

“The Pace Environmental Program and the NELMCC Board are immensely proud of our respected position and popularity among the legal environmental community.  Each year we are forced to turn schools away because we reach registration capacity so rapidly!”

Faculty advisor for the competition, Prof. Ann Powers, echoed this sentiment saying, “Pace Law School is extremely proud of our nationally acclaimed Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. Bringing hundreds of aspiring lawyers to Pace is a major undertaking, which our student board carries out every year with distinction.  But we could not do it without the support of the local legal community, whose members volunteer their time to grade briefs and serve as judges.  We are very grateful for their help.”

Mayor Roach, who will serve for the first three rounds, will be joined by the Honorable Anna L. Wolgast, Environmental Appeals Board, Judge for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; The Honorable Vincent L. Briccetti, Judge for the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York; The Honorable Nancy B. Firestone, Judge for the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

The final round of the competition takes place on Saturday, 2/25 at 1:30pm and is open to the public. For more information on the competition, contact Leslie Crincoli, Senior Program Coordinator,
