Parents in White Plains can mark the first day of school coming later this summer.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Back-to-school planning has already begun in White Plains, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in the White Plains City School District.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

9/25 Yom Kippur (schools closed)

October

10/9 Columbus Day/Indigenous People's Day (schools closed)

November

11/7 Superintendent’s Conference Day (no students)
11/10 Veterans Day (schools closed)
11/23-24 Thanksgiving Recess (schools closed)

December

12/25-29 Winter Recess (schools closed)

January

1/1 New Year's Day recess (schools closed)
1/2 Schools Reopen
1/15 Martin Luther King Jr. Day (schools closed)

February

2/19-23 Winter Recess (schools closed)

March

3/15 Superintendent’s Conference Day (no students)
3/25-29 Spring Recess (no students)

April

4/22-23 Holiday Recess

5/27 Memorial Day Recess (schools closed)

6/26 Last Day for Students

If schools are closed more than three days due to weather, schools will be open in the following order: March 25, 26 and 27. Faculty and staff are expected to report to their assignments. If no snow days are used, schools will be closed on May 23, 24 and 28. If one snow day is used, schools will be closed on May 23 and 24. If two snow days are used, schools will be closed on May 28.
