A 23-year-old cashier at Abercrombie and Fitch clothing store on Westchester Ave. in White Plains made fictitious returns to pocket over $5,000, police told Patch.
Cops said the Rowan Frederick of Brooklyn would make pricey returns, and fake returns, in order to pocket cash from the cash register. The thefts date back to January, cops said, and Fredericks was arrested Sunday, May 12.
Frederick’s scheme began to unravel when Abercrombie and Fitch’s corporate offices asked local employees to conduct an internal theft investigation; soon after, Frederick’s capers were caught on video, police said.
Frederick is accused of stealing $3,550 in cash and $2,300 in clothing. He was arrested by local police and charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a felony.
