County Film, Tourism​ Director Appointed To State Tourism Council

Westchester County Tourism & Film Director Natasha Caputo has been in her current job for more than 10 years.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Westchester County Tourism & Film Director Natasha Caputo has been appointed to the New York State Tourism Advisory Council by Governor Kathy Hochul.

The council consists of appointed tourism professionals committed to supporting the New York State tourism industry and advising the state’s Division of Tourism to help encourage economic growth through visitation.

Caputo’s position on the council will be bolstered by her decades of experience supporting tourism in the state.

As Westchester’s director of tourism and film for more than 10 years, she led the promotion of the county as a viable business environment and leisure travel destination and is a driving force behind the county’s burgeoning film scene.

Previously, she was a consultant for brands like Madison Square Garden, Cirque du Soleil and American Express. For eight years, she ran the strategic marketing and partnership operations of NYC & Company, New York City’s tourism promotion agency.

Under Caputo’s leadership, tourism marketing efforts for Westchester received notice of premier trade groups, most recently earning the PRNews Platinum Award for content marketing. Other honors include a Bronze Anvil from the Public Relations Society of America and a Gold Adrian Award from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International.

Caputo was also recently named to the Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales, Marketing and Revenue Optimization by Hospitality Sales Marketing Association International.

County Executive George Latimer said Caputo has led Westchester County’s tourism efforts with great success, never leaving a stone unturned in her mission to advance the County’s reputation as a destination for film, food, travel and recreation.

"She has helped us navigate through the pandemic, unquestionably the toughest economic challenge our tourism partners have ever faced," he said, "and she will be an incredible asset to New York State. It is a great honor to have a fellow Westchester neighbor called to serve on this Council.”

Caputo said it was her pleasure to support the state's efforts as a member of the tourism advisory council.

“I love New York. I grew up in New York City, and have made a home in Westchester County," she said, "and this state has always offered me so much opportunity.”
