Dispute on Lake Street Leads to Arrest

The following arrest report was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A White Plains man's aggressive and threatening behavior toward police after an altercation with three other men Tuesday night earned him a misdemeanor charge, police said.

Police were called to the area of 125 Lake Street at about 11:30 p.m. when witnesses reported a fight between four males. Upon arrival police ordered the men to place their hands against a nearby wall so officers could check for weapons.

But Hatsuo Jefferson, 20, ignored the request and became aggressive, yelling at officers and balling his fists in anger as he approached them, police said. Jefferson was eventually subdued and placed under arrest.

Jefferson, of 38 Mount Morris Ave., was charged with obstructing government administration, a misdemeanor, because police say he prevented them from safely investigating the fight.

The other three men told police the argument started because Jefferson was intoxicated and had become belligerent, arrest reports say. The other men were told to go home and left the scene.
