White Plains, NY (April 1, 2011) – The YWCA White Plains and Central Westchester is hosting an Earth Day Special Event on Sunday, April 10, 2011 between 12PM and 4PM. Children will participate in a planting project and help cleaning out our garden. At 2PM, there will be an educational performance by Bash the Trash.
Bash the Trash combines science, music, and environmental awareness through performances, educational programs and social initiatives. Whether performing with musical instruments built from trash or building artworks from found objects, Bash the Trash always focuses on how art and science work together.

Children and families are welcome; reservations are recommended. Tickets to the show are $5/family and can be purchased at the door. Fee for the children’s planting project is $1/each. This Earth Day event is made possible in part by a contribution from Con Edison and Whole Foods Market.
