The special election for mayor of the city of White Plains will take place on Thurs. March 31.

According to the city clerk, districts 35, 40 and 42 were formally housed at , and are relocated at the , at 20 Greenridge Ave. Contact the city clerk at 914-422-1227 if you need help determining your polling center.

It is too late for unregistered voters to register to vote in the special election, but registered voters can apply in person to submit an absentee ballot through March 30. Absentee ballots must be postmarked March 30 or earlier. Call the Westchester County Board of Elections at 914-995-5285 for more information on absentee ballots.

According to the Westchester County Board of Elections, a candidate will not have to win a majority of the vote to be declared the winner; the top vote-getter will be declared the next mayor of White Plains.
