Flooding Possible In Parts Of Hudson Valley

The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory Tuesday.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — With thunderstorms moving through the lower Hudson Valley this afternoon, there is the possibility of flooding.

The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for Rockland and Westchester counties Tuesday.

It is in effect until 2:45 p.m.

Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas can be expected.

Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

Some locations that will experience flooding include White Plains, Ossining, Tarrytown, Mount Kisco, Dobbs Ferry, Nyack, Harrison, Scarsdale, Hawthorne, Upper Nyack, Bedford, Yorktown Heights, Jefferson Valley, Rye Brook and Valley Cottage.

The weather service reminds the public to turn around when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
