Long-Running White Plains Arts Fest Back To Support A Good Cause

Festival profits go to college scholarships for selected White Plains high school graduating seniors who plan to pursue fine arts.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Some of the students who benefitted from scholarships provided by a unique arts festival will be back to exhibit their creations.

The 62nd Annual White Plains Outdoor Arts Festival (WPOAF) will be back this weekend at Tibbits Park, located at the intersection of North Broadway and Hamilton Ave. The family-friendly fun will take place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., on Saturday and Sunday.

The WPOAF is a not-for-profit organization created to present a high quality juried fine arts and crafts show to the White Plains community, and to use the profits for college scholarships for selected White Plains high school graduating seniors who plan to pursue a fine arts education in college.

Organizers say that the community tradition will have paintings, photography, ceramics, glasswork and textiles. The event will also feature emerging artists, the artwork of WPOAF scholarship winners, a free children’s art workshop, and unique food vendors.

The WPOAF is also a great place to find one-of-a-kind gifts, jewelry and home décor.
