Man Arrested After Scuffle on Mam'k Avenue

An early morning scuffle on Mamaroneck Avenue landed a New Rochelle man in police headquarters after they say he refused to stop fighting after police ordered him to stop.
Police responded to an active fight near the intersection of East Post Road and Mamaroneck Avenue at about 3:52 a.m. Saturday morning. There, they say a 22-year-old from New Rochelle was being held back from fighting a group of about 30 people.
Although the man was asked to leave the area, police say he refused to do so. Police then attempted to arrest the man, but say he used a wall to keep his arms straight and resisted.

Eventually police say they wrestled the handcuffs on and the man was transported to police headquarters where he was charged with disorderly conduct, a violation, and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
