
- Today is National Voter Registration Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness and creating voter registration opportunities for residents. A list of activities set up for today is available here.
- The White Plains Library is hosting Mixing in Math: Say it with Shapes today at 4:30 p.m. The event, which is free and open to the public, will give students in grades 3 through 6 an opportunity to create poetry using words, patterns and shapes. - The PTA of the Church Street Elementary School in White Plains is hosting “Back to School Night” for grades K-2 tonight. The event begins at 6 p.m. with parents meeting support and resource staff. At 6:30 p.m., parent meet up with special area teachers and service providers and 7 p.m. they meet up with principal and assistant principal. Things end at 7 p.m. with a presentation by classroom teachers.
- Sarah Bracey White, author and director of Greenburgh Arts and Culture, will discuss and read from her new memoir “Primary Lessons” 7 p.m. tonight at the Greenburgh Public Library, located 300 Tarrytown Rd. in Elmsford. The Village Bookstore will have copies available for purchase.
- The Entergy Day of Golf is scheduled to take place today at the Westchester Hills Golf Club from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with cocktails, dinner, awards and raffles scheduled to take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Business Council of Westchester invites residents to spend a day with more than 120 of Westchester's top business and community leaders while playing 18 holes of golf on the beautiful, private course of Westchester Hills. The event costs $375 for each golfer, $125 for the get gold ready business seminar/clinic, and $100 for the dinner and raffle. Register here.
