Obituary: Beryl Murrell Webster, Former Longtime White Plains Resident

She died at age 94.

Beryl Murrell Webster, 94, a former longtime White Plains resident, died peacefully on April 2, 2013 in Fairfield, CT.

She was the wife of the late William C. Webster.

Born in Crowley, LA, she spent most of her adult life in White Plains. She was a court stenographer in Louisiana, and worked as an administrative assistant in the blood bank of White Plains Hospital for many years.

She was an avid gardener and flower arranger, winning many awards for her floral arrangements. She had been a member of the White Plains Garden Club, the White Plains Woman's Club, and St. Bernard's Church before moving to Connecticut six years ago to be with her family.

She was a devoted mother and a very loving grandmother. Survivors include her son, David, and his partner, Larry Kramer, of New York City and Warren, CT; her son, Gary, and his wife, Gretchen, of Fairfield; two grandchildren, Morgan Gotfried and her husband, Ben, of Fairfield, and Whitney Webster of Philadelphia; and a great-grandchild, Brandyn.

Visiting hours will be on Friday, April 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Spear Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, CT. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 13 at Kensico Cemetery, Valhallah, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to FIRST, the Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types, 2616 North Broad Street, Colmar, PA 18915.
