Pedestrian Killed In White Plains Accident: Police
An investigation into the accident is ongoing, according to police.
WHITE PLAINS, NY — A Danbury, Conn. woman suffered fatal injuries after being hit by a truck while she was walking in White Plains, according to police.
The accident happened Monday around 1:05 p.m. at the intersection of N. Broadway and Cemetery Road, according to White Plains Police Chief Joseph P. Castelli.
Police identified the pedestrian as Stacie Baumgartner, 53, of Danbury.

According to police, Baumgartner had been walking south on N. Broadway, on the west side of the street, when she was struck by a vehicle travelling southbound on N. Broadway, making a right turn onto Cemetery Road.
Baumgartner was rushed to Westchester Medical Center, where she later died due to her injuries, police said.

The 29-year-old driver of the truck remained on scene, and police said he has been cooperative with investigators.
Castelli said the investigation is still ongoing as of Wednesday.
According to police, the intersection where the accident happened is multi-lane, with crosswalks and traffic lights, and pavement markings. N. Broadway is a two-way street, while Cemetery Road is a one way street westbound, police said.
