Peter Breslin Joins Wunder Financial

Peter Breslin recently joined the offices of Wunder Financial, a small financial planning practice housed within Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Company.

Breslin is an associate wealth management advisor and said he's working with clients on their insurance, investment management and financial planning needs. 

The former consulting actuary for Towers Watson worked as an employee benefits specialist for 23 years—mainly pension defined contribution and retiree plans—but said he was always interested in financial planning.

"It seemed like the right time to pursue this career," said Breslin, a current resident of Northern Westchester, where he and his wife Liza lived for 29 years, and raised three sons who are now grown and out of the house. The recently placed their home on the market and are planning a move to White Plains. 

To make the career switch, Breslin studied for and achieved all of the financial planning designations.

"I am now a Certified Financial Planner, FINRA registered (Series 7 and 66) and also hold life, health and long term care insurance licenses in New York and Connecticut," he said.

Breslin also helps clients—in both Fairfield and Westchester Counties—with education planning. He served on the Katonah Lewisboro school board for the past 9 years and plans to step down in June. 

He said he's ready to make the move to a new city, after making the career change before the end of 2012. 

"We loved our house and having a family in Northern Westchester," he said. But now my sons are grown—Jacob is away at Penn State, Sam is working at Virgin Records and Jason is in an assisted living situation in White Plains. So this move will bring me closer to work, and Liza and I closer to Jason. Life changes."
