Police: 2 Arrested During Drug Bust

The following arrest report was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A man police say was spotted selling crack-cocaine to a homeless man on S. Lexington Avenue faces a felony drug charge.

Police say a 41-year-old homeless man approached Oscar Covington, 43, and handed over money in exchange for the drugs at about 8 p.m. Friday near 182 S. Lexington Ave.. Police then followed the homeless man to a nearby parking garage where they discovered he was carrying two bags of crack-cocaine.

After making the discovery, police arrested the 41-year-old and tracked down Covington near the intersection of E. Post Road and S. Lexington Ave. Police say they found 14 small bags of crack cocaine and two clear bags of marijuana in Covington's pockets.

Covington, of 667 Nepperhan Ave., Yonkers, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a felony. The 41-year-old was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor.

Both men were held for court appearances earlier this week.
