Police: Man Chokes Wife in Gas Station Parking Lot

A White Plains man faces a felony charge after police say he choked his wife in a vehicle parked outside of a City gas station.

The couple was arguing in their vehicle outside the Mobil gas station at 417 Mamaroneck Ave. at about 6:26 p.m. on July 8 when the confrontation became physical, police say.

During the scuffle, police say the 22-year-old husband choked his wife, interrupting her breathing. The woman used a cell phone to call police when her husband walked into the store, police say.

The man was charged with second-degree strangulation, a felony, and third-degree assault, a felony.
