Police: Shoplifter Caught Carrying More than Stolen Clothes

A Katonah woman accused of stealing three shirts and a pair of pants from Thursday evening was also carrying 14 small envelopes of heroin while she attempted the theft, police say.
The 25-year-old was arrested at 100 Main Street around 6:40 p.m. Police say they uncovered the heroin along with a spoon and 10 unused syringes during a routine search at police headquarters.
Police charged the woman with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and petit larceny, both misdemeanors.

She was held on $500 bail.
