Police: Teen Arrested While Trying to Steal a Giants Jersey

Whatever his reasoning, police say a White Plains teenager was arrested Thursday evening for trying to steal a Giants football jersey at in the Galleria of White Plains a little more than a week before the team will take the field in the Super Bowl.

Mall security caught the teen trying to leave the store after the 17-year-old put on the $60 jersey and tried to cover it with a jacket at about 5:30 p.m., according to an arrest report.
Police charged the teenager with petit larceny, a misdemeanor, and released him to his father.
