Breaking: Enjoy the mid-December Indian summer while it last; the National Weather Service is calling for wintry conditions on Saturday.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — If an unseasonably high temperature of 63 in mid-December sounds too good to be true, don't worry because the weekend across the Hudson Valley is starting to shape up to be more like a typical forecast for this time of year.

Thursday's forecast of partly sunny skies, with a high near 63 will provide a brief respite from a wintry weekend. By 10 p.m., the near perfect conditions will depart with a 20 percent chance of showers. An overnight low of 52 is expected under cloudy conditions.

Friday will remain mostly sunny, with a high near 59. By Friday night, there will be a chance of rain between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. This will likely turn to sleet and possible snow flurries in the Northern Hudson Valley. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Little or no sleet or snow accumulation is expected.
