Screenings Under the Stars Series To Kick Off In July

The first scheduled movie will be the musical comedy "Minions: The Rise of Gru."

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — The White Plains Hospital Screenings Under the Stars series will kick off July 14 at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla.

The first movie in the series, which is presented by Westchester County Parks and Sharc Creative, will be the musical comedy “Minions: The Rise of Gru.”

There will be four lighthearted films, all rated PG and released in 2022, in the series.

“Our outdoor movies give people multiple family entertainment opportunities,” said Westchester County Executive George Latimer. “Each film is geared towards adults and children alike, so everyone can enjoy the shows together.”

  • “Minions: The Rise of Gru,” Friday, July 14, Kensico Dam Plaza, Valhalla
  • “DC League of Super-Pets,” Friday, July 28, Kensico Dam Plaza, Valhalla
  • “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish,” Thursday, Aug. 10, Croton Point Park, Croton-on-Hudson
  • “The Bad Guys,” Friday, Aug. 25, Glen Island Park, New Rochelle

Admission and parking are free, but Westchester residency and parking fees are applicable at Glen Island Park.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m., with movies beginning at sundown. Movies will be presented rain or shine, though they may be canceled due to inclement weather.

Moviegoers should bring blankets, folding chairs, and a picnic. Refreshments will be available for sale.
