The White Plains Common Council Meets Monday, YWCA Holds Open House for Infant/Toddler Program Wednesday

1.) The White Plains Common Council is scheduled to meet tonight. A copy of tonight’s agenda can be found here.


2.) Children in grades 2 through 6 are invited to stop by the White Plains Library today to make recycled paper collage and stamp art. The session begins 4:30 p.m.and is free to the public. The White Plains Library is located at 100 Martine Ave. Call (914)422-1476 for more information.

3.) The New Westchester Symphony Orchestra is inviting local musicians to a complimentary rehearsal at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6,  inside the Music Conservatory of Westchester, located at 216 Central Ave. in  White Plains. The first audition for the amateur community orchestra is free. Email info@newsymphony.org to RSVP to a rehearsal and go to www.newsymphony.org for additional information about the orchestra.

4.) The YWCA of White Plains and Central Westchester is having  open house for its infant/toddler program on Wednesday, Aug. 7. from 9 a.m. to noon and  3 p.m. to 5 p.m. For information and to RSVP, email the program director crobinson@ywcawpcw.org or call (914) 949-6227, ext. 133. The YWCA is located at 515 North St. in White Plains.

5.) Hope Heyman, business advisor,  and other Small Business Development Center experts are hosting a workshop on "Starting Your Own Small Business/Expanding Your Existing Business”     at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug 7, at the Greenburgh Library. The Greenburgh Library is located 300 Tarrytown Rd. in Elmsford.
