TV Shows Filmed In Westchester Garner 70 Emmy Noms
The nominations announced Tuesday include outstanding drama series and several for actors and actresses.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — If you were watching the live announcements of the Emmy Award nominations Tuesday, you may have noticed that a few television productions that filmed in Westchester County got nods.
In fact, according to the county, there were 70 award nominations across several categories going to shows that filmed in Westchester over the past year.
"Whether for comedy series or family dramas, period pieces or murder mysteries, Westchester locations are second to none," said Westchester County Executive George Latimer.

"The Emmy nominations shine the spotlight on the diverse backdrops and film-friendly communities in Westchester County, well on its way to becoming 'Hollywood on the Hudson,' " he said.
At the top of the list in terms of the most nominations was the HBO drama series "Succession," which is about the inner workings of an ultra-wealthy media-owning family.

It received 25 nods, including outstanding drama series, outstanding writing for a drama series, outstanding direction for a drama series and multiple acting nominations, including outstanding lead actor in a drama series for Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong.
The series is set in New York City and around the world, but several episodes were filmed in Westchester.
Scott Ferguson, executive producer of "Succession," said shooting in Westchester is great because of the huge variety and great diversity and range of locations.
"A lot of times you want to tell a story set in New York and somewhere else," he said. "Westchester is one of the first places I look for a convincing 'somewhere else.' "
With 14 nominations, "Severance," from Apple TV+, filmed in several Westchester towns including Mount Pleasant, Pleasantville, Scarsdale and Yonkers. The series also used locations in Ulster, Dutchess and Rockland counties for filming.
The series is about a mysterious corporation that has found a way to sever an employee's personal life from his or her business life and stars Adam Scott, who was nominated for lead actor. John Turturro, Christopher Walken and Patricia Arquette were also nominated for supporting actor and actress.
Other shows that used Westchester locations and were nominated for Emmys are:
- "Only Murders in the Building"
- "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel"
- "Scenes from a Marriage"
- "The Gilded Age"
Westchester County Tourism & Film Director Natasha Caputo said she was thrilled about all the nominations because they showcase the amazing assets the county has to offer the film and television industry.
"It's also a point of pride to see our locations featured in today's most acclaimed and most popular shows," she said. "We congratulate all who were recognized and will be rooting for them in September."
The 74th Emmy Awards will be telecast at 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12 on NBC.
