As Heart Health Month continues to be recognized at so many healthcare institutions throughout Westchester and the Hudson Valley, where talks and discussions about preventing the disease, the number one killer in America, many healthcare workers felt it was time also to celebrate Valentine's Day on Friday, February 14. Here at Martine Center on Tibbits Avenue in White Plains, nurses from all levels are always looking out to make sure that their residents are eating heart-healthy and getting exercise on a daily basis, whether in rehabilitation or not.

"Our nurses are always on top of their game taking care of their residents, and there's nothing wrong with a little Valentine's Day celebration," said Martine Center Administrator Emelyne Cherenfant. "For Heart Health Month, they have been continuously educating the residents about the importance of eating the right foods, not smoking or drinking, and getting exercise. Their heart needs it, why not give it."

On Valentine's Day, it was a time to get together, continue to wear red and enjoy the holiday of love.
