Volunteers Needed For Winter Package Delivery To Older Adults

Volunteers will be fanning out across the county delivering packages and connecting with older adults on Sunday, Jan. 29.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — An organization that works to alleviate social isolation among older adults is seeking volunteers for its annual Winter Package Delivery.

DOROT Westchester has arranged to deliver thoughtful, seasonal care packages and some personal contact with older residents of Westchester.

The delivery date when volunteers will be fanning out across the county is Sunday, Jan. 29.

According to the organization’s website, volunteers will pick up between one and three care packages and deliver them to older adults, using the visit to connect with the older adults for 20 to 30 minutes by phone or in person.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and have a valid government-issued photo ID.

DOROT requires all volunteers to wear a mask while participating in the package deliver program.
