Voter's Guide: White Plains School District Goes To Polls Tuesday
Voters in White Plains will decide whether to approve their 2023-24 school budget Tuesday.
WHITE PLAINS, NY — Voters in the White Plains school district will be going to the polls Tuesday to decide whether to approve the 2023-34 budget.

The proposed spending plan of $256.6 million is 4.8 percent higher than the current budget. District officials said they were focused on new courses in English, mathematics, science and engineering, PreK expansion for 4-year-olds, encouragement of increased student participation in sports, new security and safety measures and an increase in staffing to meet the needs of the district in payroll, accounting and facilities.

The tax levy is expected to rise just 1.19 percent, which is below the state's tax cap.
Two board seats will be up for election, each for a three-year term of office, beginning July 1. Candidates, in the order they will appear on the ballot, are incumbent Rosemarie Eller and Valerie Daniele.
