U.S. News analyzed nearly 400,000 survey responses from residents and their family members at more than 3,500 senior living communities nationwide to create the list of 1,703 communities recognized as among the “Best Senior Living.” The categories include best independent living, best assisted living, best memory care, and best continuing care retirement community (CCRC).

According to U.S. News, the survey asked residents and family members about their satisfaction with aspects of the community such as safety, caregiving, management, staff, food and dining, and activities. The ratings recognize communities that excelled at providing highly satisfactory services and making residents feel safe and well cared for.
