Westchester Offering Scholarships To Cover Lifeguard Certification
Students age 15 and up are encouraged to write in explaining why they want to become a lifeguard and how they will benefit.
WHITE PLAINS, NY — Westchester County Parks is offering scholarships to local students to pay for Lifeguard Certification courses.
The 10 scholarships are for those students who want to work as a lifeguard for the county parks department.
Students age 15 and up are encouraged to write in explaining why they want to become a lifeguard for the county and why they will benefit from the experience.

Submissions should be at least 250 words and emailed to PRC-Aquatics@westchestergov.com.
The deadline is Monday, March 6. Those awarded with scholarships will be notified by email by Monday, March 13.

Those awarded with the scholarship will be expected to work at any of the following facilities:
- Croton Point Beach in Croton-on-Hudson
- Glen Island Beach in New Rochelle
- Saxon Woods Pool in White Plains
- Sprain Ridge Pool in Yonkers
- Tibbetts Brook Pool in Yonkers
- Willson’s Woods Pool in Mt. Vernon
