White Plains Today: The British Invade Renaissance Plaza, Curious George at the White Plains Library

The Business Council of Westchester in partnership with the Westchester Library System is holding a presentation on the impact the Affordable Care Act will have on businesses today from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Greenburgh library, located at 300 Tarrytown Road in Elmsford. Businesses across New York will be enrolling in the New York Health Benefit Exchange starting October 1.This presentation will provide a detailed explanation of what can be expected under the Affordable Care Act. The Hudson Valley Afterschool Network is hosting its first regional meeting for afterschool providers in the Hudson Valley today at 10:30 a.m. inside the Westchester Jewish Community Services, 845 North Broadway, White Plains, NY 10603. White Plains Farmers Market is Open Today

The market will be open today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Court Street between Main Street and Martine Avenue. Participating vendors come to the market from local farms in upstate New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Vendors feature a wide assortment of fresh produce, plants, home baked goods, breads and prepared food.
Pajamarama: "Curious George Digs into Some Fun" at the White Plains Library
The White Plains Library is hosting "Curious George Digs into Some Fun" today from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Children ages 2 to 5 are invited to bring their pajamas and bring their stuffed animal friend for stories, songs, activities, and a bedtime snack at the library's galaxy hall. To make sure everyone is safe and comfortable, tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis 30 minutes before the start of program. Congregation Kol Ami will show the movie Silver Linings Play Book at 7 p.m. today during its summer movie series. The movie tells the story of Pat, who moves back home with his football-obsessed parents after spending time at psychiatric hospital to get treated for bipolar disorder. While he tries in vain to reconcile with his wife, Pat meets a woman who's as unstable as he is -- and she changes his life. The event is open to the community and free of charge. The Kootz Scheduled Tonight at Renaissance Plaza
"British Invasion" with the Kootz Band is scheduled 7 p.m to 9 p.m. tonight as part of the White Plains recreation department's "Dancing Under the Star" program. You can find out more about the Kootz, who are based out of New Jersey, here.
