Brooklyn Fraudster Used Personal Info to Trick Bank: NYPD
The suspect made purchases and cash withdrawals from his victim's account after TD Bank in Greenpoint issued him a debit card, police say.
GREENPOINT, BROOKLYN — Brooklyn detectives are seeking a man who they say stole a TD Bank customer’s personal information, then used it to fraudulently acquire a debit card from a Greenpoint bank and make unauthorized purchases and cash withdrawals.
The man was issued the debit card on Sept. 24 around 5:50 p.m. inside the TD Bank branch at 765 Manhattan Ave., according to a police news release.
Police described the suspect as white, 30 to 35 years old, 6 feet tall, 210 pounds, with long hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing glasses and a dark-colored shirt, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the NYPD at 1-800-577-8477. Tips can also be submitted online or by texting 274637, then entering TIP577.
