A Japanese eatery from the team behind Sunday in Brooklyn and Yuji Ramen landed on a list of the 40 most buzzed about new spots in America.
GREENPOINT, BROOKLYN — A new Japanese restaurant opening on Banker Street is one of the most hotly-anticipated eateries in not only New York City, but the entire country, coming next year.
Rule Of Thirds — run by the team behind favorites like Sunday In Brooklyn, Yuji Ramen and Okonomi — landed on The Daily Meal's national list of "The Most Anticipated Restaurants of 2020." It was the only Brooklyn spot and one of seven in New York City included by the online food and dining site's list of 40.
The new spot is set to open at the 171 Banker St., which is also set up as an events space, in winter of next year, according to its website.

Owners said it will bring the best of Japanese food, drink and environment, named after the idea that the " most compelling visual compositions are achieved through asymmetrical balance."
"Whether you come to our restaurant by yourself and sit at the bar with a solo bento box, or with a group of friends around a hotpot, through our cooking and hospitality we want you to feel warmly welcomed and at home,” co-founder and chef JT Vuong says on the restaurant website.

Here's what Daily Meal had to say about the new spot:
The teams behind Sunday in Brooklyn, Yuji Ramen and Okonomi are joining forces to open Rule of Thirds in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood. This all-day Japanese restaurant will include seasonal bento boxes and super trendy Japanese souffle pancakes during the day and izakaya-style and large-format dishes meant to be shared (including hot pots) for dinner. Sake, natural wines and cocktails that "feature a range of American classics that draw on Japanese influence for techniques and flavor" will be offered.
The Brooklyn restaurant was joined by six upcoming eateries in Manhattan on the list, including a Lower East Side Indian spot coming to Essex Market, a Southeast Asian eatery on the Chinatown/SoHo border and a bistro from the Quality Meat owners in Midtown.
In order to compile the list, the Daily Meal reached out to dining publicists and industry figures with expert knowledge of the most anticipated American restaurants of 2020.
