Man Beat With Baseball Bat On Williamsburg Street, Police Say
The attacker hit a 58-year-old man with a bat several times on River and North 3rd streets on Tuesday, police said.
WILLIAMSBURG, NY — An attacker knocked a man to the ground and hit him with a bat on a Williamsburg street on Tuesday morning, police said.
The 58-year-old victim was standing near River and North Third streets checking his phone when a man walking with two small dogs came up to him at about 9:35 a.m. and took a swing at him, according to the NYPD and video of the incident.
The victim tried to run away, but the attacker caught up with him, knocked him to the ground the hit him several times with the bat, police said. The attacker fled on foot northbound on North Third Street afterward.

EMS treated the victim on the scene, and he suffered cuts to the head and bruising to his body, authorities said.
Police described the attacker as between 30 to 35-years-old, 6-feet tall and 200 pounds.
