2 At-Large Suspects Wanted for Williamsburg Robbery and Assault: NYPD

The victim was punched in the head and had his cellphone stolen on Jan. 24, police say.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — Local detectives are hunting for three men who they believe are connected to an assault and robbery in northwest Williamsburg on Jan. 24.

On that afternoon, a 34-year-old man entered into a verbal argument with the three suspects — including the two pictured above — at 124 South 3rd St., near Bedford Avenue, police said.

The suspects hit the victim in the head, sending him to the ground, and then stole a Samsung Note 4 cellphone that fell out of his pocket, according to the NYPD.

The victim did not receive medical attention, police said.

The suspect photo provided by the NYPD was recorded by a nearby security camera soon after the alleged crimes occurred, police said.

The NYPD runs a free program known as Operation ID that lets residents register their electronic devices with the department. That way, if cops recover a phone or another valuable item after it is stolen, they can return the item to its rightful owner.

This incident occurred in the NYPD's 90th Precinct, which covers the entirety of Williamsburg and part of Bushwick. According to official police statistics, through March 20, major crimes were collectively down about 7 percent compared to the same time period last year.

However, assaults had ticked up from 30 incidents to 34; reports of grand larceny stood at 128, compared to 121 last year; and seven sexual assaults had been reported, compared to just three in 2015.
