It may be billed as a parade, but Brooklyn's Pride organizers have actually compiled an entire roster of fun activities to stretch throughout the day.

A 5K Fun Run, Multicultural Festival, Kids Space and pride happy hour at local bars are all on the docket—in addition, of course, to the parade that will march along 5th Avenue from 14th Street to Sterling Place.

Where: Prospect Park at Bartel-Pritchard Circle, located at 15th Street and Prospect Park West. Evening Parade down 5th Avenue starting at 14th Street to Sterling Place.

Sure, you can bring the kids to the pool, but you may as well up the ante by bringing them to the Brooklyn Children's Museum, where wee ones can enjoy model sailboat races and "splashy" relay races on the museum roof.

Celebrate Brooklyn kicked off earlier this week with Jimmy Cliff, and the good vibes will keep coming this weekend with AfroCubism and Alsarah & The Nubatone. 

Where: The Prospect Park Bandshell, located at the entrance of Prospect Park West and 9th Street.

When: Saturday, 7:30 p.m.

 

Bring your bike to Grand Army Plaza on Sunday and enjoy a guided tour of Prospect Park, courtesy of the Urban Park Rangers. Don't forget to bring your helmet; it's required.

Project EATS, a non-profit that serves low-income communities by establishing urban farms around the city, will be setting up a pop-up produce market at Brooklyn Commune. Stop by and pick up locally grown produce, plants and organic compost for your kitchen or garden!
