Brooklyn St. Patrick's Day Parade 2017: Route, Full Schedule, Street Closures And More
Everything you need to know about attending, or avoiding, this year's St. Patrick's Day parade in Park Slope and Windsor Terrace.
WINDSOR TERRACE, BROOKLYN — The annual Park Slope/Windsor Terrace/Brooklyn St. Patrick's Day Parade is this Sunday, starting at 15th Street and Prospect Park West and looping through Park Slope before finishing back in Bartel Pritchard Square.
Street closures will be in effect along the parade route, according to the NYPD.
Whether or not you're looking to participate in this year's festivities or avoid them getting in the way of already laid plans — here's everything you need to know about the Saint Patrick's Day parade:

What is the parade route?
The parade starts at 15th Street and Prospect Park West and runs down 15th Street to Seventh Avenue. The reviewing stand will be set up at Prospect Park West and 14th Street.
From there, the parade will run along Seventh Avenue all the way to Garfield Place. Then, the parade will turn up Garfield Place to Prospect Park West and loop back to 15th Street.

Traditionally, parade-goers will finish up with drinks at Farrell’s Bar on 16th Street and Prospect Park West.
What time does the parade start and end?
Here is the full schedule of the parade and surrounding events, courtesy of Brooklyn St. Patrick's Parade:
9:00 AM — Pre-parade Mass, Holy Name Of Jesus Church, 245 Prospect Park West
Noon — Bands and marching units assemble on Prospect Park West between Ninth Street and 15th Street
12:45 p.m. — “Re-Dedication Ceremony” to the heroes and victims of 9/11 – WTC, at Prospect Park West and 15th Street
1 p.m. — Parade begins
How will the parade affect traffic?
The NYPD said Friday that street closures would be in affect around the parade route. We'd also recommend avoiding the area all together if you're a driver and aren't planning on going to the parade.
Grand Marshal and other dignitaries
The parade's grand marshal this year will be James J. Houlihan, owner and bartender at the long-time neighborhood watering hole Farrell’s Bar and Grill.
He'll be joined by these aides to the grand marshal:
