This Little Guy Needs Your Help
This injured Chihuahua mix is in dire need of a good home.

Windsor Terrace resident Laurie Trombley has had a rough few days, though maybe not quite as rough as the 6-pound Chihuahua mix whose life she's spent the past week trying to save.
The following account was posted Monday on FIDO's website:
"Last Saturday (6/2) morning, while walking my dog on 10th Avenue between Prospect Avenue and 17th Street, I noticed a small dog wandering around my neighborhood. I followed him for a little while to make sure that there wasn't an owner around, and there was not. As I tried to befriend him, there was a noise that spooked him and he ran into the street and got hit by a car, right in front of me on Prospect Avenue between 10th Avenue and 11th Avenue (kinda near the Key Food). It was horrifying."Â

Trombley wrote that she brought the wounded pooch to the vet to have his injuries treated. He was released back into her care—alive, but with a broken pelvis—on Sunday.
The trouble, though, is that Trombley can't keep the dog herself, meaning he's got to find a new home. Here is her description of the little guy:

Black and white Chihuahua mix. I've been calling him "Chico Suave." No collar, no microchip, unaltered male. The vet suspects he is roughly 10 years old and did not receive the best care before this accident (very skinny, terrible teeth). He weighs 6 pounds. He has a broken pelvis as a result of his accident so can't go on "walks". I've just been taking him into my back yard to relieve himself.

Trombley also started a "Chipin" account to offset the hefty vet bills incurred by the incident. Donations of any size can be made here.
