Here's How to Donate Gifts to Some of Kensington's Most Deserving Kids

The Kensington, a family shelter on McDonald Ave., is collecting gifts for 1,200 homeless children.

KENSINGTON, BROOKLYN — If you're looking for a way to donate gifts this holiday season to a family that will really appreciate them, there's an easy way to do it right in the neighborhood.

The Kensington, a temporary shelter serving as many as 64 families at once, is accepting donations to a toy drive being run by CAMBA, a social services organization operating three shelters in the city, including The Kensington itself. (The others are The Landing in Queens and the Flagstone Family Center in Brownsville).

According to CAMBA, at The Kensington, residents receive case management, emergency food and clothing, and assistance with finding work and stable housing.
