Windsor Terrace Forum Will Focus on Legal, Social Services for Immigrant Families

The forum will take place at P.S. 130 on Dec. 10, and will be translated into multiple languages.

WINDSOR TERRACE, BROOKLYN — P.S. 130 in Windsor Terrace will host a forum on Saturday, Dec. 10 focused on the legal and social services needs of immigrant families. The event will start at 10 a.m. at the school, located at 713 Caton Ave.

According to P.S. 130 PTA, the forum will be led by Councilmembers Brad Lander, who represents Park Slope and Windsor Terrace, Carlos Menchaca, who represents Sunset Park, and Assemblyman-elect Robert Carroll, as well as District 15 Superintendent Anita Skop.

Also present will be speakers from the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs and the city's Commission on Human Rights, as well as organizations that provide legal services to immigrant families.

According to the PTA, those who attend will also have the chance to speak to city agency staffers and legal organizations about concerns they have related to their families.

Translators will be provided by the Department of Education (DOE), according to a spokesman for Lander's office. The spokesman did not have a definitive list of language speakers who will be present, but said that the DOE will be as accommodating as possible depending on community needs.
