Jobby Wine and Liquor Remains Closed After Fire

A sign taped to the front says a fire forced the liquor store to shutter for now.

on East 3rd Street near Church Avenue remains closed today after being ravaged by fire earlier this week.    

A bright pink sign posted to the liquor store's exterior offers customers little insight into when they can expect to shop there again, saying only that "We will open again as soon as possible with more services." 

According to the blog KARMABrooklyn, the blaze began on Monday around 9 p.m., drawing a handful of fire trucks to the scene. By 10 p.m. the fire was out, and no injuries were reported.

A call to the store went unanswered, and fire officials were unable to confirm what happened. 

In any case, those seeking St. Patty's Day palliatives will have to head elsewhere. Local options include  on Church Avenue, on Ditmas Avenue,  on Prospect Avenue and on Cortelyou Road.
