Kensington Taxi Driver Charged After Killing Pedestrian, Police Say
Syed Ullah will be charged with failure to yield for hitting and killing an 80-year-old woman on the Upper East Side.

KENSINGTON, BROOKLYN — A cab driver from Kensington was charged after he allegedly struck and killed an 80-year-old woman on the Upper East Side.
Syed Ullah, a 49-year-old resident of Kensington, was charged with failure to yield to pedestrian after he struck Barbara Horn, 80, while she was crossing the street on Friday evening, police said.
Horn was walking in the intersection of East 70th Street and Third Avenue around 5:45 p.m. when she was hit by a yellow cab, police told Patch. The taxi was traveling east on East 73rd Street and was attempting a left turn onto Third Avenue at the time of the collision.

First responders discovered Horn unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from severe trauma to the body, police said. EMS transported Horn to New York Presbyterian Hospital where she was pronounced dead. She was a resident of East 73rd Street.
Ullah stayed on the scene of the collision, police told Patch.
