Local Restaurant to Compete in BAM Latke Festival
The fourth annual festival will see contestants compete for best latke in the land.

Everyone has , but why not try New York's finest chefs's take on the Chanukah staple at the fourth annual latke festival at the Brooklyn Academy of Music?
From 6:30-9 p.m. on Mon., Dec. 10, 17 chef and restaurant contestants will compete in a throw-down to see whose take, be it classic, contemporary or something in between, is considered the best of the best.
Other competitors include chefs from A Voce, Balaboosta, BAMcafe, Blue Ribbon Brooklyn, Clinton Street Baking, Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, the Farm on Adderley, Fatty 'Cue, Mae Mae Cafe, Norma's, the Plaza, Stone Park Cafe, Sussman Brothers, the Vanderbilt and Veselka Bowery.

A panel of judges, including WNYC radio host Leonard Lopate, Saveur senior editor Gabriella Gershenson, Greenmarket executive director Michael Hurwitz, and Brooklyn Flea founder Eric Demby will choose their favorite. Attendees at the walk-around tasting will also vote for a people's choice winner.
Attendees will also enjoy mini bialys from Hot Bread Kitchen, sufganiyot from Dough, He'Brew beers from Shmaltz Brewing Company and coffee from Brooklyn Roasting Company.

A portion of the $55 ticket price will be donated to The Sylvia Center, a program that encourages youths to discover good nutrition from all sources.
