WINDSOR TERRACE, NY — The NYPD will host a public meeting in Windsor Terrace on July 23 focused on public safety in the neighborhood, as noted by the KARMABrooklyn Blog.
The meeting will be led by Officer Daniel McGrath of the NYPD's 72nd Precinct, which covers Windsor Terrace. It will take place at 10:30 a.m. in the Good Shepherd Hall at Holy Name Church, located at 245 Prospect Park West.
While major crime has gone down this year in both New York City and Brooklyn, it has gone up in the 72nd Precinct.

In one of the more dramatic increases, the precinct has seen reported sexual assaults nearly double, to 15 from 8 last year.
That includes a chilling June 26 attack outside 586 16th St., during which the victim was able to fight off her assailant. Police subsequently identified two suspects in the case, but no arrests have been made.
Patch has submitted multiple requests to the NYPD for a meeting with Captain Emmanuel Gonzalez, who leads the 72nd. On July 13, an NYPD spokesperson stated that Gonzalez "is not available" for a meeting, but did not provide further information. The department has not responded to subsequent requests, and has not responded to requests for a meeting with any other NYPD official concerning crime trends in the precinct.
