Occupy Kensington Rallies Again

Occupy Kensington will rally for the second time next Monday, this time with a specified agenda.

In contrast to its Wall Street forebears, Occupy Kensington has, after just one gathering of its General Assembly, already identified a few key issues on which to focus its non-violent cross-hairs.

As the impetus behind Occupy Kensington's formation, convincing Golden Farm owner Sonny Kim to pony up to store employees is first and foremost on the agenda.

Another issue identified in the first 90-minute gathering, held at Vanderbilt and East 5th streets in Windsor Terrace, is the lack of green space in Kensington (hence the Windsor Terrace meeting space). While Occupiers acknowledge that the newly constructed has added needed public space to the neighborhood, many residents think Kensington could use more.

The group will also rally behind the fight to save , the loss of which would effectively sever access between brownstone Brooklyn and its northerly neighbors.

These and other issues will be addressed on Monday, June 18, at 7 p.m. The gathering will take place at 351 E4th St., at the intersection of Church Avenue and Beverley Road.
